Betts Park in Warren was full of walkers, local businesses, and families over the weekend as the Walk to End Alzheimer’s returned to Warren County. The event raises money for Alzheimer’s research along with care and resources for people living with the disease and the families supporting them.

Development manager Maddy Drayer said community support arrives at a crucial moment. New treatment options like infusion therapies are emerging, and researchers are learning more about modifiable risk factors. At the same time, shifting budgets and grant funding mean local fundraising carries more weight than ever in keeping research and family services moving forward.

The walk may be over, but giving continues through December 31st, 2026 at act.alz.org. As Drayer put it, it’s all about hope that there will be a cure someday for this terrible disease.
